From 32 participants to 100,000 athletes per year

Sportevents was founded in 2010 by Wim De Doncker and started with a single sports competition for just 32 participants. What started small grew into one of the leading organizers of sports events in Belgium.

Today, Sportevents is the market leader in trail running in Belgium and we get more than 100,000 athletes moving each year during 50+ events at home and abroad.

International

Internationally, we are also continuing to build strong sports brands. In the Netherlands, we are active with Bearsports, while in France, in less than ten years, we developed Trail du Grand Ballon into one of the most popular trail running brands in the Vosges. In Feb 2026, our first event in Luxembourg is on our calendar

Unique locations

From trail runs and marathons to triathlons, walking tours and other sports challenges: we are constantly looking for unique locations and special courses that make participating more than just doing sports.

Behind every event is an experienced team working on course design, safety, logistics, communication and participant experience. Always with the same goal as that very first competition in 2010: bringing people together around sports and providing them with an experience they love to return for.
